On Digital Payments Going Viral

Phil- I wonder if this is the begining of a new revenue stream for traditional media? It will be interesting to see what can be monetized by wide-spread adoption of micro-payment platforms.

On The Generation Gap and Small Business Leadership

Peter, your post has me thinking! Wouldn't it be interesting to look at the personality/psycho-graphic profiles of leaders in large enterprises vs those in small ones? You do allude to that, but I think they are distinct types with distinct motivations. And wouldn't it be interesting to see how those lead to, drive and foster innovation? Or for that matter, don't.

On 1 in 8 Consumers Forecasted to Cut or Eliminate Cable TV in 2010

Interesting stats, Steve. Is this a result of the economy, or is there a broader shift to 'freemium' content? If the later, what do you think the implication is for marketers?

On My blog knows everything about my business

Becky, I think you've really touched on something here. By creating a 'blog archive' professionals truly have the ability to create a wiki of best practices. And this inherent flexibility truly speaks to the value of the format.

On What is the potential value of your content?

This is a thought provoking piece, Peter. One point I am wondering about is- and this probably falls under pricing- the concept of 'free' or 'freemium'. Specifically, is it better for some producers to make their content free- or walled- and if yes on either point what criteria should be used? I would love to hear your thoughts.

On Help your customers with a predictive question

This is an interesting post, Becky. I think formulating the right question is a moving target, and is arrived at over time. Would you have any additional resources to recommend that can help provide these sorts of consumer insights?

On Social Networking vs Email

Interestingly- or maybe not so- there was just something on npr about this phenomenon. Specifically how universities are transitioning their official email to gmail, and thus the cloud. If you have a sec, here's the link: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125762272.

On 5 Tips to Engage Social and Mobile Customers

Thanks for this insightful post, Eric. It really offers solid insight on how marketers- and small businesses in particular- can extend their brands in the social realm. One question I have, and you touch on this briefly, is how can these marketers truly differentiate their brands in the social realm?

On “Backshoring”: the new buzzword that may give you a job

This is an interesting post, John.

What other factors do you think might be at play here? Possibly supply chain issues, and/or currency fluctuations?

I wonder too if 'backshoring' of manufacturing and services makes sense for premium producers?
