The ways that you can use Instagram for your business are endless. You can use the site to tell the story of your business, how you learned how to set up a business in the US, generate user friendly content and instantly engage your followers.

It does not matter if you are new to Instagram, or you are looking to increase your brand following, there are several pointers you can use to market your brand on Instagram.

Create Your Instagram Account

It is easy to create an Instagram account for your business. The first thing that you will need to do is make your company name the username. This will help your followers recognize your company on all other social media sites. If that name is taken, use a name that will be instantly recognized by your followers and is in sync with your brand.

Once you complete the profile, you can link the account with your company’s Facebook page or profile and upload a picture.

Hashtags

Always include hashtags in your updates. Hashtags are very critical with Instagram marketing. It is one of the ways that users find your profile page, and you are not limited to a character count like you are on Twitter. Do not include too many tags with your updates or your page can quickly be marked as ‘spammy’ and desperate.

Your company’s name should be included in some of the hashtags you post. Also, ty to include some brand specific hashtags for certain marketing campaigns that you run. For example, if you are running a contest on Instagram for customers who wear your t-shirts and upload a picture, create a specific hashtag for that.

General hashtags can also be used for your lifestyle posts, but do not be afraid to add some hashtags that are trending. You must be quick when including these hashtags because they will become irrelevant as soon as they trend goes away.

Place Focus On Your Customers

Make your brand’s followers celebrities in their own right. Include any photos they upload using your products or services to your profile page. Let your customers know how much you appreciate them by highlighting their photos, and sharing them on your other social media pages. However, always ask for their permission before doing so.

Instagram also has a feature that will let you embed your customers’ photos. These photos can be embedded on your company’s website, but once again get their permission before doing this.

Instagram offers you another way to connect to your target audience. Try these tips out and see just how successful your marketing can become.
