I think I understand your thinking here and I partially agree - that is to say I agree with the idea that your article that suggests that entrepreneurs do not unplug all the way - ever. I think it's because entrepreneurs are smart, forward thinkers who feel like they cannot "turn-off" the stream of to-do lists, meeting's, new idea's, advertising campaigns, etc...that "pop" into their heads. I also feel like entrepreneurs fel that can't completely let go - they must keep a finger on the pulse - check in, IM, text, phone call - whatever it takes to connect, while their away. And with that, I respectfully disagree. I had a boss one time who, upon leaving for vacation each year, would give us "worker bee's" his cell# and vacation spot # and say "Unless the place is burning down - DO NOT CALL ME! Thank you!". I thought at the time and still do that it was the smartest thing I had heard a business person say. I have always felt that we need to fully disengage - even for a short time, to be fully recharged, re-energized and had had that full break whenever we do re-engage! Our brains NEED time when we do not think & do about whatever it is that we think & do about, all of the rest of the time! I used to feel guilty having a babysitter be with my child while I did somthing deemed "unimportant" like shopping. But someone pointed out to me thta when we take a break and do things that are fun for us, it makes us BETTER at the stuff we must do on a daily basis! I think the same of business owning - you must get a clean break from it now and again. It's one of the only things that will keep you fully engaged all the rest of the time!
